Toriola Stephen Excellence Scholarship

The Toriola Stephen Excellence Scholarship is designed to support outstanding Nigerian undergraduate students who have demonstrated academic excellence and a strong commitment to positive community impact, despite facing financial challenges. This scholarship aims to recognize and empower students who continue to excel in their studies and contribute meaningfully to their communities, providing them with the financial assistance needed to achieve their educational goals.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicant must be an undergraduate, enrolled in a higher institution approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
  • Applicant must have a minimum GPA/CGPA of 4.0 on a 5.0 scale, or 3.2 on a 4.0 scale. Other grading scales or percentages should be converted to the 5.0 scale for reference.
  • Note: Priority will be given to applicants who are orphans or have a single parent who is a widow or widower.

Personal Details and Essay questions

Candidates are required to complete the application form below with accurate and detailed information.

Note: The application form is a single page form, and it is important to fill in all the required fields accurately.

The essay file should include detailed information about the applicant, such as their FULL NAME, ADDRESS, SCHOOL FULL NAME, LEVEL, COURSE OF STUDY, CGPA/GPA (with scale), and responses to the four (4) essay questions. Ensure the file is well-structured, clear, and concise to effectively convey your qualifications and aspirations.

The essay questions should answer:

  1. How are you unique? (Discuss your background, identity, interest, or talent).
  2. How will this scholarship help you and why do you deserve this scholarship?
  3. What are your academic and/or career goals?
  4. How have you contributed to your community (This can be in any way)?

The more convincing and expressive you are, the better. Essay should not be less than 300 words, and not more than 500 words.

Ensure all details are added correctly as data would be vetted and used for identification of each applicants.

Note: The essay questions are very important and should be answered with utmost care.

Application should be submitted in a single PDF file, with the full name of the applicant as the file name.

Upload Required and Supporting documents

This section entails the upload of typed essay file and mandatory documents; such as ID card copy and Result. Other Supporting Documents are optional.

Note:

  • Downloads from result portal need to be signed by a lecturer, preferably the HOD or Level coordinator.
  • The ID card copy should be a clear copy of the ID card and should be a valid ID card.
  • The supporting documents are optional, but they can be used to prove your uniqueness and also to show that you are deserving of the scholarship.
  • Merge all files into one PDF file for the upload.
  • Please ensure the file size does not exceed 2MB for a smooth upload process.

This section is as important as other above. Preview your details and ensure all documents are attached appropriately.
